Waiting for santa in 1904 on Boughton high street Sent by Roger Macnaughtan, Auckland NEW ZEALAND Just above St Barnabus looking down towards the village. Amongst our old family postcard collection is one I would like to share with you and the viewers of your site.
You will see it is a real photo postcard entitled "Waiting for Santa Claus at Boughton Xmas 1904". It really is a delightful photo of that period and extra special because it shows the delightful and happy children of Boughton. It is taken outside "File & Sons - General Supply Stores and is postmarked "BOUGHTON"". Photo is by "_____RAVE (maybe Hargrave) of Faversham". On the back of the card it is addressed to Mrs K.Simmonds, 20 Palace St, Canterbury.
